Introduction to Teaching Adults

Teaching adults has its own set of challenges and rewards for the ESL teacher.

Teaching adults is quite different from teaching children. Adults have more experience on which to draw, and classroom management isn't as much of a concern. In addition, they're usually more motivated and have a real need for learning the language. However, they do acquire the language differently than children do.

This course provides an introduction to the specifics of teaching adults, and includes helpful links, videos of real teachers teaching adults, quizzes, tests and examples of lesson plans.
